Some Things I Have Realized So Far...

1.  I have a lot of fun clothes in my closets


2.  If you want to avoid something, just focus your thoughts on something else


3.  I get kind of uncomfortable posing for the camera


4.  If you take something out of your life you have to replace it with something else positive


5.  I almost always wear shirts with cardigans over top


6.  I love layering necklaces


7.  It is really fun to have your own blog

The blue corn necklace that I am wearing used to be my mom's and I always wore it when I played dress up as a kid.  Now I wear it to play dress up as an adult.

This shirt is actually a skirt that my roommate was getting rid of, and I just wear it like a strapless shirt.  I've actually done this many times with different skirts and it works really well.

Notes: 
It rained the first day I wore these jeans and the back of the legs got stained from dirty water that splashed on them - so I took some bleach and made bleach patches all over them to cover the stains.  

    

Day 6

Notes:  Today's outfit was difficult to choose because I needed something that would transition from an outfit for work to an outfit for a cocktail party at night - so I picked an semi-casual outfit and just switched between flats and heels

    

Reflections...

As I start this experiment I realize that it will be greeted in different ways by different people.  Some people who are too busy to shop or on a tight budget might think, one month...piece of cake, while others who shop frequently might think that it would be impossible to go a month without shopping.


Either way though, the important take away message is to not let something master you, whether it is shopping or something else like food or TV.  Even though it might seem limiting to put some sort of restriction on your life, the process of doing this actually brings freedom.

I have never paired this jacket and this blouse before, but it worked perfectly because you can see all the detailing on the blouse when the jacket is buttoned up.
